In 2008 startte het Nationaltheater Weimar met deze nieuwe productie van de tetralogie. Onder leiding van dirigent, Carl St.Clair , een vroegere leerling van Leonard Bernstein en met de regie van Michael Schulz is deze nieuwe Ring een bijzonder document van hedendaags modern theater.
