De kinderen van groep 8 gaan op ‘survivaltocht’. De klas is verdeeld in 3 soorten kinderen. Zo zien we de ‘stoertjes’ met hun macho gedrag, de ‘softies’ die het liefst hun moeder mee hadden genomen en de ‘strebertjes’ die verwend zijn met de mooiste spullen. Deze groepen staan lijnrecht tegenover elkaar. Dat Sjanie van de softies en Bennie van de stoertjes verliefd worden op elkaar is dan ook verrassend.

Een festival, speciaal voor kinderen, waar de pers en de televisie aanwezig zullen zijn om alles uit te zenden. Roem wacht!!!! Ze moeten daartoe een popnummer instuderen, vergezeld van dans en showelementen. Vervolgens ontmoeten we een groep Rockers uit Engeland. Ook zij zijn op weg naar Uddel, evenals een stel ‘countryfanaten’. Het Uddelfestival belooft dus een heel spektakel te worden.
