This book is the third that has been published by SNDO, School voor Nieuwe Dansontwikkeling. In Talk 15 articles are presented from a time span of 24 years. The first interview was conducted in 1982 and the latest contributions date from 2006. This book can well be seen as a belated anniversary issue to celebrate the 30 years of existence of SNDO, since it was more or less founded in 1975 with the fusion of two private dance studios, those of Pauline de Groot and Koert Stuyf. This resulted in the Opleiding Moderne Dans as one of the departments of the Theaterschool in Amsterdam. The book is organised in four parts. The first consists of interviews with some of the key figures within the school from 1975 onwards, is thus entitled: Stories of Key Figures. The second consists of what we call Teachers Talking, interviews with guest and staff teachers. The third is a selection of written materials produced by graduates of the school: Writing by Graduates. Needless to say, these materials represent a small selection of a much broader output that has been developed, but it does give an idea of the range of thinking and activities at the school. Finally, the fourth part, Lists, provides a series of lists, of teachers, graduates, contributors to the book and and index of references to people who are mentioned throughout the book.
